What is types of seatbelt?

There are three main types of seatbelts:

  1. Lap Belt: A lap belt is the simplest and the most basic type of seatbelt. It is a single strap that goes around the waist and is fastened using a metal buckle. It is the least safe type of seatbelt, as it does not protect the upper body and can cause abdominal injuries in case of a high-speed crash.

  2. Shoulder Belt: A shoulder belt is a more advanced type of seatbelt, which provides protection to the upper body as well. It is a strap that goes diagonally over the shoulder and across the chest, and is fastened using a metal buckle. It is much safer than the lap belt alone, but it can sometimes cause chest injuries in extreme crashes.

  3. Three-Point Belt: A three-point belt is the most advanced and the safest type of seatbelt available. It combines both the lap and shoulder belts into a single unit and provides maximum protection to the occupant. It is fastened using a metal buckle and is commonly found in modern cars. This type of seatbelt can significantly reduce the risk of injuries in case of a collision.
